I would like to share the following passage as it reminds us all that the way we live is essential to the wellbeing and welfare of the next generation. History shows that the way we have responded to lifes enormous challenges and the way we are educating children might just need to be re addressed.
We arrive in this world to make it a better place and then life takes over, the fears set in and we shield ourselves away so much, we either continue to tick boxes all our lives as it gets credit and feels safe, or we step out of the box and have little support along the way until we have become a success - after all no body likes failure! HA!
But there is no failure. LIfe is a journey. We will take wrong turns and hit some bumps, some harder than others, and these are the Universe saying, 'hey, little soul, that is the wrong direction for you.' And this is when we need to check in with how we feel about something. What is our heart saying?!
Yes, we can guide others, we an teach others, but we must allow the children of today to allow their wings to fly in the direction 'they' want to go not the way we 'think they should go'. Once again the word should crops up. Replace it with could! :)
We need to listen to their hearts too. And they are here to teach us lessons too. Take the time to listen to them.
"Your children are not your chidren
They are the sons and daughters of life's longing for itself.
They come through you, but not from you...
....you may give them your love, but not your thoughts
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies, but not their souls...
....You may strive to be like them
But seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday."
